Blue Monkey Hotel & Beach Club picks Paired Plus hotel spa software
Blue Monkey Hotel & Beach Club, the Leading Hotels of the World member on Paynes Bay in Barbados, has chosen Paired Plus as the hotel spa software behind its full-service spa. The evaluation kept returning to one requirement: a spa charge had to reach the guest's Opera folio in real time, with no second system in between.
Paired Plus connects to Opera through OHIP, Oracle's Hospitality Integration Platform. That connection is what Blue Monkey's spa director described as non-negotiable, and it is where the selection was won or lost.
The announcement was made from Los Angeles, California and Paynes Bay, St. James, Barbados.
The announcement in one line: a 28-suite Barbados resort moves the booking, checkout, marketing and reporting for its spa onto Paired Plus, connected to Opera through a certified OHIP interface, with D.A.R.C.I. AI included from day one.
Why Blue Monkey chose Paired Plus
Blue Monkey, also written as Blue Monkey Resort and Beach Club, runs a full-service spa with private treatment suites inside a 28-suite boutique property. The brief was not a day-spa brief. A resort spa takes in-house guests, walk-ins from the beach club, couples bookings, packages and a hotel folio that has to reconcile at night, and any hotel spa software that cannot see who is actually checked in is already behind on the first busy Saturday.
Blue Monkey Resort and Beach Club reviewed the hotel spa management software market before choosing Paired Plus, and the shortlist was measured on the folio first and the features second. The deciding factor was the depth of the Opera connection: instant synchronisation of spa reservations, guest profiles, room charges and billing inside the resort's own Opera PMS. That removes the manual work that sits between a therapist finishing a treatment and the amount appearing on the folio.
"Seamless connectivity with our Opera system was non-negotiable," said the spa director of Blue Monkey Hotel & Beach Club. "Paired Plus didn't just meet our requirements — it exceeded them. Guests can now enjoy effortless spa bookings that appear instantly on their room folio, while our team gains complete visibility and control across the entire resort operation."
What the Opera OHIP integration actually does
OHIP is Oracle's Hospitality Integration Platform, and Paired Plus holds a certified interface to it. Certification is the part hotel IT teams care about, because it means the connection is supported by the PMS partner rather than improvised by a developer on the property's side. In practice, four things happen at the spa desk without anyone touching Opera directly.
| What the spa does | What happens in Opera |
|---|---|
| Close a treatment, add-on or retail sale | The closed ticket posts to the guest folio through OHIP, using the transaction code the property already uses |
| Look up an in-house guest | Search by name, reservation number or room before the ticket closes, so a charge cannot go to the wrong folio |
| Void or comp a service | A credit returns to that same folio, so finance is not reconciling a side spreadsheet |
| Close the property's day | Spa revenue is already on the folio when night audit runs, with the rest of the outlets |
Guest lookup matters more at a resort than at a high street salon. Two guests can share a surname, a group block can hold several rooms, and a guest may have checked out that morning while still using the beach club. The desk confirms the person is in-house and sees the folio the charge will hit before the sale closes.
Support for the interface stays with Paired Plus rather than being handed to Oracle. The support team works from California and Oregon, knows the folio posting through OHIP, and takes the ticket when a charge does not post. For a resort running a night audit on Caribbean time, that is the difference between one call and two vendors pointing at each other.
D.A.R.C.I. AI at a resort spa
The second draw was D.A.R.C.I., the AI assistant Paired Plus launched alongside the Opera work. It reads each guest's visit cycle and flags the gaps before they become empty slots, then suggests the next booking, add-on or treatment at the right moment.
This is the part of hotel spa software that gets skipped in most comparisons, because a demo rarely shows what happens on the fourth night of a stay. For a resort spa the value is concentrated in a short window. A guest is on property for six nights, not twelve visits a year, so there is no room to discover on night four that the massage was never rebooked. D.A.R.C.I. works on the guest in front of the desk — what they booked last stay, what they usually add, whether they are drifting — and puts the recommendation in front of the therapist or the front-desk host rather than in a report nobody reads until month end.
The Paired Plus suite going live this summer
Implementation at the Blue Monkey spa was already underway when the announcement went out, with the full suite scheduled to go live over the summer. Every item below is included on the plan rather than sold as a module.
- Opera OHIP integration for room charges, guest profiles, credits and night audit.
- D.A.R.C.I. AI for retention, rebooking and revenue recovery.
- The employee mobile app, so therapists see their own day, notes and turn times without walking to the desk.
- Appointment scheduling for groups and events, which is the normal shape of a resort booking: a wedding party of eight, a couples treatment, a package split across two rooms.
- Unlimited marketing automation for pre-arrival offers, birthdays and win-backs, with no per-send charge.
- A fully integrated online store for retail and gift cards, so a guest can buy a treatment before they land.
- PCI-compliant point of sale that handles retail, tips, packages and membership in one flow.
- Over 300 customizable reports, including reporting by outlet, therapist and treatment.
From salon software to resort spa on one platform
Paired Plus started as salon software and grew into spa software without splitting into two products, which is why a 28-suite Barbados resort and a five-chair salon in Ohio run the same code. Nothing about the spa software is a reduced salon build, and nothing about the salon software is a stripped hotel build. The appointment book, the client profile, the checkout and the reporting are the same screens; what changes is the size of the book and whether a charge goes to a card or a room folio.
That matters for hotel groups more than it first appears, and it is the argument for buying hotel spa software from a company that also ships salon software to thousands of small shops. A resort usually has a spa, a salon, sometimes a fitness or wellness outlet, and each one is a separate P&L with a separate manager. Running one login with reporting by location is cheaper to train and easier to reconcile than running three systems that each need their own salon management software contract, their own spa software licence, their own support line and their own month-end export.
The salon management software side is also where most of the spa's habits come from, and it is not an accident that the same platform carries both. Online booking, deposits, no-show rules, backbar inventory that deducts itself, commission and tip splits that reconcile on payroll night — all of it is mature salon management software, because salons have been pressing on those problems for two decades, and resort spas inherit the polish.
What this means for other hotel and resort spas
Opera is the most common property management system in luxury hospitality, but it is not the only one, and resort spa software that only speaks to Opera is a short list in a portfolio that runs two or three brands. Paired Plus holds certified spa PMS integration with Maestro, IQWare, Opera, Resort Data Processing, Megasys and Room Master, plus support for Micros 4700 and 8700 emulation where a property has not migrated yet. If the PMS is not on that list, the in-house development team scopes a custom interface with the property's IT staff.
Blue Monkey Resort and Beach Club joins a reference list that already crosses both sides of the Caribbean. Shutters on the Beach and Casa del Mar in Santa Monica run Paired Plus against Opera Cloud, posting room charges through OHIP. Couples Resorts in Jamaica has been a client for fifteen years. Blue Monkey now sits alongside them as a Leading Hotels of the World property.
"Blue Monkey Hotel & Beach Club represents the pinnacle of Caribbean luxury," said Stephen Wiggins, CEO of ProSolutions Software, Inc. "We are honored they chose Paired Plus. Our deep Opera OHIP integration, combined with D.A.R.C.I. AI and our all-in-one feature suite, was purpose-built to help elite hotel spas like theirs streamline operations, maximize revenue, and create unforgettable wellness experiences for discerning travelers."
Pricing follows the same published ladder that runs across the salon side, from $69 a month for a single provider to $399 for unlimited staff, with every feature included and no per-booking fee. The first twelve months are free when the property integrates credit card processing, and data migration and training are included in that year.

Blue Monkey and Paired Plus: questions, answered
What did Blue Monkey Hotel & Beach Club choose Paired Plus for?
Paired Plus is now the software platform behind the resort's full-service spa: the appointment book, checkout, guest profiles, marketing and reporting. It runs against the property's Opera PMS through a certified OHIP interface, and includes the D.A.R.C.I. AI assistant.
Why did the Opera integration decide it?
Because it was the one requirement the resort would not compromise on. Blue Monkey's spa director described seamless connectivity with Opera as non-negotiable. With OHIP, spa reservations, guest profiles, room charges and billing synchronise inside the resort's Opera PMS in real time, so the folio is correct without anyone retyping a sale.
What exactly does OHIP do for a hotel spa?
OHIP is Oracle's Hospitality Integration Platform, and it is how a third-party system talks to Opera safely. At Blue Monkey the spa closes a ticket, the amount posts to the in-house guest's folio under the property's own transaction codes, a void returns as a credit on that folio, and night audit reads the spa revenue with the rest of the resort's outlets.
When does the Blue Monkey spa go live on Paired Plus?
Implementation was underway at the time of the announcement, with the full suite — employee app, online booking, marketing tools and D.A.R.C.I. AI — scheduled to go live over the summer of 2026.
Does Paired Plus work with property management systems other than Opera?
Yes. Certified spa PMS integration is available for Maestro, IQWare, Opera, Resort Data Processing, Megasys and Room Master, plus Micros 4700 and 8700 emulation. Interfaces outside that list are scoped by the in-house development team alongside the property's IT staff.
Is this hotel spa software out of reach for a smaller property?
The published ladder starts at $69 a month for a single provider and runs to $399 for unlimited staff, and every feature is included at every tier — there is no per-booking fee and no paid module for the app, marketing or reporting. The first twelve months are free when the property integrates card processing, which also covers data migration and unlimited training.
